A Flat Spring is a spring made out of flat material, rather than round spring wire. The most commonly known flat spring is a wave washer that found inside the temperature setting mechanism of ovens. With a wave washer, or flat spring, you are required to push in on the oven button before turning it to the desired temperature. When you are through with the oven, the flat spring snaps the button back to its original position. Designs Verified by Spring Mfg. Institute (SMI) Software.
